Rapid prototyping with spatial computing & AI
Quick testing of ideas during the exploration phase is crucial for the success of products. Rapid prototyping is a balancing act between rapid evaluation of sketches and expressive user experience. The combination of AI and mixed reality significantly accelerates the sketching and testing of ideas, which leads to more informed decisions.
Exploration with spatial computing
The virtual evaluation of product ideas is not new, but spatial computing enables a significant acceleration of previous innovation and work processes. (More information on Apple’s Spatial Computing ecosystem)

The seamless integration of prototyping tools such as Figma or ProtoPie into Spatial Computing enables testing on hardware without the additional effort of implementation.
-
Interaction concepts and visualisations can be developed and tested together with the hardware at any stage. User tests can be run on foam models, 3D-printed prototypes or near-series products.
-
Any display size and shape can be tested without any effort. There is no need to order, implement and programme possible display variants until all options have been evaluated.
Visual exploration with AI content
The quality of some interaction concepts is difficult to evaluate with wireframes. This requires product photos, videos or animations, which were previously not suitable for rapid prototyping due to their time-consuming production process.
With the help of AI, test assets can now be generated quickly. Instead of producing product assets in a time-consuming studio set-up, a laptop is now sufficient.
To create the coffee drinks, for example, the assets were generated with Midjourney and animated with Runway
